Can You Be Sued for an Unpaid Payday Loan if You Leave the Country?
Even though payday loans differ from conventional loans in numerous ways, they still work under the same basic premise. If you're in need of money, a loan can help cover you for a period of time, after which you are expected to pay that money back. Unfortunately, many people do not pay back their payday loans as expected. They are considered unsecured loans, meaning you can take them out without any collateral or asset. That is mainly so everyone can be capable of taking a payday loan out, not so that people can get away with no paying the lender back. You wouldn't borrow money from your friend, then leave the country and never pay them back would you? Same idea applies with a payday loan, but not everyone follow this edict. There have been customers that take out payday loans and leave the country under the assumption that he or she will never have to pay back the loan. While some payday loan companies may choose not to pursue such customers, others will hire collections agencies that will do everything in their power to get a hold of them. Exactly what the collections agency is capable of doing depends on the type of relations and cooperation they have with whatever country the customer is in. In some cases, they may be capable of taking legal action against these customers, but either way the debt remains and they will be expected to repay it.

If you have an unpaid payday loan in a different country, keep in mind that it is still your responsibility to repay it and your lender will probably get a hold of you at some point. Of course the best course of action is to repay the payday loan before you ever go to a different country, but if circumstances get in the way you should at least contact your lender. Simply let them know of your situation and you can likely work out a plan to get the money paid back. Almost all lenders can be reached through email these days so it shouldn't be difficult to communicate with them. Should you return to the country at a later time without paying the loan back, you can almost certainly count on the lender finding you. Avoid the hassle and do everything you can to just pay your payday loan back on time.
